Ryan Bast, a safety advisor with the Motor Safety Association, has been selected from over 116 nominees from around the world as one of the 2015 National Safety Council ‘Rising Stars of Safety’ elite group. The Rising Stars of Safety showcases up-and-coming safety professionals under 40 who have a track record of demonstrating leadership, innovation and involvement in their organization’s safety culture while promoting continuous safety improvement in the workplace.
Ryan was first nominated and then chosen based on his leadership, dedication and accomplishments at work, home and in the community regarding safety. Ryan displays an ongoing commitment to safety. He sat on the C6 Board of Directors for four years (at a very young age), took time from his full time job to earn a Safety Certificate at SIAST and has been president of the Montmartre First Responders Group for the last nine years. He has made it his goal to wear his Mission: Zero pin every day in 2015. Ryan works diligently every day to make a difference for Motor Safety Association members and staff.
He and the other 39 honourees are featured in the cover story of the September 2015 issue of Safety+Health magazine and receive a personalized plaque.
